Suggestion on rescue raft or kayak

I'm looking into getting a small inflatable boat or kayak to get my boat out of the lake if it ever gets stuck. I wanted to see what others have bought because a 1-2 person boat/kayak can range from $15-150 (kayak was $150).

I don't want anything too check because if prefer not to need rescuing myself.

I plan on also putting together a rescue rig in the future but for right now this is what I want.

    Thanks in advance

inflatable rafts are dangerous because it doesnt take much to puncture them. think about all the sharp hardware on the back of an rc boat…. i use a kayak

Id try and also go for a wide flat kayak.
Just make sure its somthing you can lift yourself as well.
its nice to have a boat to go out and get your boat with, because sometimes things like rescue RC boats arnt that great if you loose a hatch etc

I understand the issues with inflatable rafts but the upfront cost of a kayak (plus hauling equipment) make it a little less attractive for me right now. With some care/planning I plan on avoiding puncturing the raft. Maybe the use of some sort of Rubbermaid contains to hold the boat while I'm rowing back to shore. Using the Tennis ball/rope trick from the raft. while significantly closer to my rc boat. Also currently I only have boats with plastic rudders/props.

I am however searching Craigslist for both inflatable rafts and rigid kayaks to see if something pops up.

Quick question, are there kayaks in 7 foot lengths? If I go the kayak route I'd like something I can get in the bed of my pickup but the bed is only 5 1/2 feet long so a 7 foot kayak would eliminate the transport issue I have with them.

I picked up a Coleman kayak. It's 7ft and the shortest adult kayak made. I think I paid 150 bux brand new

I keep searching Craigslist for a short kayak like yours and nothing. Luckily I haven had to go after a boat test but I don't want to keep pressing my luck.
