Zenoah G260PUm or Chung Yang F273 engine?

I don't know if this is the right thread for my question. Moderators, Please feel free to move this thread anytime.

    Hi Guys,

I never ventured into Gas Boats before and I'm planning to build a 45" V-hull gasser. I would like to ask your personal take between this two engines:

    1. Zenoah G260PUM w/ WT-644 carb
    link: http://www.davesmotors.com/s.nl/c.88...it.A/id.970/.f

    2. Chung Yang F273 w/ WT-771 carb. (I can get this CY F273 at the same price as the Zenoah G260Pum shipping included directly from Taiwan)
    Link http://www.davesmotors.com/s.nl/c.88...t.A/id.7545/.f

Please give your opinions as to value for the buck, performance, power etc. Your opinions will be highly appreciated. Thank you!

If you're looking for a sport motor you plan to leave stock, the F273 4 bolt is a good option. If you may want buy mod upgrades later, go with the Zen there's more available. If you plan to mod it and do the port work yourself, either is good.

      I've got a 4 bolt F273 that's very strong.

You may consider the RCMK Evo 254 as well. It's probably the strongest out of the box of all three.

        Brushless55 & raptor347,

Thanks guys! I really appreciate your input on this. Well, I've been rc boating for several years but I haven't got a gas boat yet. I'll also check on the RCMK evo 254. Thanks! keep them coming!

P.S. How about the metallurgy of the F273 and RCMK EVO? Some gas boys at our local pond are concern about it in reference to the rcmk and cy f273. They say that zenoah uses good metals in their engines. What can you say about the durability of rcmk & zenoah?

well the Zehn motors are solid and last.
I think the RCMK motors are coming up to the quality of the Zenoahs but just not as good right now
but for the money they are hard to beat..
I had forgotten about the RCMK till Rapto37 reminded me, that's possibly what I would run next to the Zehnoah

All three work well in stock form. The RCMK and CY make more power out of the box. If you're going to cut on it, it's hard to beat the Zen. Material wise, I'd give the edge to Zenoah. One nice thing about the Zen, parts are available from lots of sources.

What do usually breaks first with these engines? Specially with the rcmk and cy F273? I don't think I'll a gas engine any time soon since I'm a first timer in gas.

                Nothing specific, just general availability.
