    Hydro Trivia

Just a bit of trivia for you hydro guys. I don't know how much you are into the hydro boats or if you keep up with history of the boats and drivers, but when I was living in Aberdeen, Washington in about 1958 or 1959, I went to Seattle with my father to watch the unlimited hydro races. Bill Muncey was killed while driving, I believe Ms Thriftway. He drove several boats, but I'm pretty sure Ms Thriftway was the one he was driving at the time of his crash. He ran inside the bouys and hit a Coastguard boat that was sitting there being used as an emergency boat. Don't quote me on this guys, 1958 or 59 was a long time ago!

We keep up with Unlimited history very well, one of our club members is Joe Taggart's son. Thanks for re-posting that video Jim, it's always a hoot to watch.

Models of two of Joe's Unlimited boats, the IV and the Tomyann.
