Like a lot of things in this world it takes time to tell. Will some of today's music still be on the airwaves in 20 or 30 years? I was a teen in the 70's and I have an 18 yr old that plays guitar, he loves Jimi Hendrix, go figure. He also plays music from some obscure band I never heard of and to be honest some of it is good. I just find that today's music is angrier than the music I grew up with. As for rap, I put that next to disco, it just plain sucked.Comment

Every Genre of music has its shining stars. There are a lot of songs I wouldn't have listened to 30 years ago. But now, I've found, I can listen to a lot of different music and take something from it.
To me, music is just one big genre. What I listen to now depends on my mood.Government Moto:

In a few years rockabilly / traditional RnR will be making a come back, there is a big underground scene that been building for a few years. LOL now seeing 20 year olds playing gretches and slapping the upright bass.
Country now sounds more like some of the rock bands from the 70's - my generation is now making it and we grew up on 70's music.
LOL I've played Johnny Cash at punk shows and the crowd goes nuts, funny watching a mosh pit full of young'uns go nuts to Ring of Fire!
What's old will become new again with a twist.
20 years ago there was a huge Bluegrass scene in the Universities which was then replaced by the Celtic/Canadian east coast boom.
Being a performer it's always interesting watching the small venue trends in music, few years later they are the current fashion trend.
I remember being in Seattle watching Green River and Mother Love Bone in a dive with about 30 people, next time I saw them a few years later they had combined to form Pearl Jam and it was a sold out stadium with Neil Young on the bill! LOL missed my chance to party with Eddie Vedder. Not likely, wasn't really impressed by a bunch of junkies back then! The reason Pearl Jam formed is half of both bands OD'd and died! Then they all got clean and well kinda sucked after that!If my boats upside down then who owns the one I thought I was driving the last two laps?Comment

Robin Gibb from the Beegees has passed away. Not really my style but they had a lot of hit songs.

Not a fan of these guys but the little guy playing guitar on the left is my luthier buddy Wayne O'Conner, owns a shop called Hank to Hendrix here in town

He just set me up with a set of real 1963 vintage strat pickups, codes are all visible and verified! Wound in Sept 1963. Can you say rare!If my boats upside down then who owns the one I thought I was driving the last two laps?Comment

Somewhere in the back of an old draw is a cassette tape I dubbed of "Wish You Were Here", my all-time Floyd favorite. It's inscribed in my own handwriting with : "Use In Case Of Sunset". Many a-time I played it through on my portable cassette player sitting on the top rim of Wiamea Canyon watching the sun set over Niihau. There might have been some local produce involved as well
