    Christchurch NZ. 6.3 quake

I watched in horror as the destruction of property and life unfolded on morning news this Tuesday 22nd Feb.
A few years ago I walked around and through many of the places now reduced to rubble.
I hope none of our friends or colleagues were amongst those suffering from this cruel act of nature.
Best of hope to you all.

Christ, even the cathedral spire crashed to the ground. I trust that the death and other infrastucture problems do not increase as have been reported so far.

So far as we can see on local tv the cathedral is intact and it is "just"the front that is farked. I am sure it will be rebuilt, that is how we kiwis do it.

There is a serious loss of life and as of now we are at 75 deceased and lots missing, or just skivinig off and hiding

We have a lot of very skilled guys down there and there has been a great response from overseas, US and UK teams are on their way to help the locals and the Aussies who are already here.

It will be a long few days to extricate the survivors and even longer to to remove the deceased.

We will make it through this!!
      See it....find the photos.....sketch it it....build it........with wood

I am pleased to hear that Simon.

I see the death toll keeps rising (123 as I type) and that is very sad.
Times like this bring out the best in people and we know you Kiwis and no marshmallows. You are great neighbours and a people that never give up and that is something all Aussies admire in you buggas.

Several boats in various stages of destruction

I will second that comment, the Kiwis are a tough bunch and for a very small nation have shown they can stand on the world stage with a lot of pride for their accomplishments.
