I have to say the funniest (but innocent since was a kid about 9-10) was while I was running my rigger, he asked me "Does that thing fly?" I almost fell in the lake from laughing.
What the dumbest question you've been asked?

This just happened a few days ago before I sent one of my boats to Florida for The FE Nats. I thought it best to do a quick check before shipping it out. I went to the local river walk and was running the Crackerbox when 2 ladies walking by stopped and watched the boat. One of them made a few comments about how "They Run boats like that on a lake by my home In Texas where I Live But they are real loud and not quiet like yours is". I said that the boats that are ran by her home were most likely Gas or Nitro which can be pretty loud and the one that I was running was electric and they are much quieter. She the looked at me with a very confused look on her face and asked "Well how do you plug it in? I don't see any electric cords!" I had to keep from laughing when I told her it had rechargeable batteries in it. She asked "Batteries where can I get some of them like that, I keep spending money for batteries in my toys and they sure don't run like that, I've got to get some batteries like that" she said to her freind and they walked away.

That's funny. I bet some of us can make a fortune if we made brushless/lipo, hi output toys for women. They would sell like hotcakes.Comment

I enjoy answering peoples questions or at least trying to. I'd have to say about 90% of the reason I go to the lake to run my boats is to meet people and hopefully get some that are interested enough to buy one themselves.
I'm surprised how many times I've run into someone at the lake who saw my boats asked questions and the next time I went they were there with some new RTR boat or in a couple cases some crazy expensive boat they found because of talking with me. It usually ends with a phone number exchange and sometimes a new buddy to go to the lake with.
I love rc boating because of this.Comment

It's always better just to convert an old reciprocating saw.

Not related to boats, but I work at a h-d dealership and get alot of dumb questions, to many to post here but heres one thats at the top of my list.
A customer asked me, whats the fuel tank to seat ratio on my harley.
I asked what do you mean, he said how long can I ride my harley before my ass starts to hurt.
so being who I am I walked around the customer and said, I feel you can go along way.Comment

I answer almost anything asked and do understand the lack of knowledge does spawn some interesting questions , I also get a kick out of the nitro boys around here taking a look inside the boats I run with a multitude of questions plus some very good ones too . Absolutely none have ever seen a electric powered boat....EVER....go faster than 25mph , yes we are for the most part 20 years behind in the boating sector so mouth drop right to the ground when a electric powered mono can completely annihilate everything in there club .
The one thing that does get under my skin is when someone always says my friend has one just like that but a little faster .........SURE HE DOES...........Last edited by Punisher 67; 05-26-2011, 02:05 PM.Necessity is the mother of invention.............
