that is surreal... but if they don't do something about the ongoing long range missiles that are being build around, I could be seeing one of the explosions on my neck of the wood... being the West coast and all...

Cool technology. Mounting a few of those in space would certainly fulfill a large portion of the Star Wars effort begun under President Reagan. BTW, that's when this program began. This is just standard stepwise refinement.
