In the Us I don't think the blood type matters as you can tell them that you are giving for a person and they get credit for it. Danny, Your friendship and wet feet are gift enough.

well you have to have matching blood type, if the blood type isnot compatible then the blood you give can not be used by the person.

Your blood type is determined from the shape and function of your red blood cells. The possible blood types are: A, B, AB and O. However there are sever...

Type AB can receive from anyone.

As long as your RH factor is negative you can donate and it will be used.

I got excited till I read the fine print...
A person with a negative Rh factor can only receive negative type blood. Otherwise, there is a chemical interaction that could cause clumping, a stroke, and possibly death.

What you all have provided is getting everything started. I should be able to handle it from here. It's morning in the Philippines, and my family, through tears of joy, thank you so very much.

                              **Update**

Erlinda is still very weak, but her blood pressure is slowly climbing to a normal level. Thanks to the help from all of you, we were able to purchase the needed blood. (That still gets me why blood has to be bought and not given!) The Philippines is 12 hours ahead of us, so at midnight here (EST) it was noon there.Last word I heard was that just after noon in the Philippines, if she continued to improve in her condition, they will move fwd with her operation, pending she is strong enough by evening. I'm going to call in a few hours to find out if she had the surgery, and how she's doing.

Thank you ALL, and Thank you to:
