A friend of mine once said, "don't tell me your problems, tell me what you are doing to do to fix them?". He probably got it from a book or movie, but it still makes sense. So, stop whining about the past and move on to how the present will or should be resolved.

Would the world be better off letting the aggressors role over whom ever they wish.
Sorry but I just don't get the logic.
WWII had a political agenda, and as all political agendas at the end of the day there was money involved.
Who was liberated by this war?! Every single time I go to the airport and have to go thru security checks and take my shoes off (and my two little daughters as well) I get reminded of the so called freedom we have. It has never been worst for the people in Iraq, put yourself in their shoes.
The world would not be better letting the aggressors roam, but so far America is not even close to getting any of these head guys... right now there is a different agenda.
The alternative you ask... well, right now, since all this was started we cannot just fold the tent and leave, we have to finish the job somehow.

We spend more money and blood trying to promote freedom to people around the world than anyone, yet again we are the bad guys.
We are spending tons of cash and sweat in Iraq, trying to help rebuild that country, and we are getting no oil in return. After the billions spent giving the people the opportunity for some glimps of freedom.
      Not sure what I'm missing.
Personally, I'd be in favor of pulling out our blood and money from everywhere watching how fast things went to hell.
But that would be our fault too.
Yes there are extremist out there, nobody is denying it... but we are not even close to being innocent in all this. Why do you think there is so much hate against this country and not some other developed country?! It sure isn't cause we smell funny.
You still believe the news in the US, eh? I am from a different country and it amazes me as how things don't surface in the news here as they do elsewhere.
I agree, too much money and blood has been wasted, but there is more to come unfortunately.

You and all those that oppose the war Dom, there is a chance that the new Gov. will put a close to all this, let's hope it's true... and fast!

What I'm waiting for is the spin that the left gives when these guys are let off
Steven, give this new guy time to fix things, it has been a long road until here, it will not change in 10 months. There is always a political agenda behind every move, the trick is figuring it out and hope it sticks.

Give it time... 10 months is not a lot of time.

Not only the present but the future... no sense it cry over already past problems, also, no sense in looking at our feet, we must look ahead.

I'm not whining. People are way too quick to point fingers at the current admin. Having an accurate portrayal of the past is the only way to learn from it. You cannot learn from the past if facts are skewed or merely forgotten because of petty political agendas. The worst part is "we" the citizens have no say in any of it in reality.

Let's be realistic. We still have troops in Germany and Japan.

McCain was realistic, look where that got him. Liars get political jobs, realists are put aside to watch.
