    Who Believes in Ghosts/paranormal?

Since Halloween is close at hand do you believe in ghosts? have you had any experiences?

I have had several in the past.

During a remodel of an old stage coach stop in Flagstaff, AZ area. I had stayed long after the rest of the guys left for the day to finish up some cabinet work. I was alone in the building a 2 story log house.

3 times during the night my extension cord became unplugged and left me in the dark! The cord was tied up to the wall to make sure that I could not put any tension on the plug, it was difficult to pull out of the wall.

2 times I heard footfalls going up the stairs that where in plain sight from where I was working and both times there was no one there.

The last thing that happened just after the second set of footfalls was heard was a giggle that came from behind me and that was when I decided to finish up in the morning when the rest of the crew was there.

The hair stands up on my arm every time I talk about it.

i believe too, the last house we lived in was haunted.. this guy went insane and killed his family (wife and 2 kids) at night you could hear slamming doors and gun shots

                Each to there own.
                Believe what you will.
My wife is a believer and I am not, so conversation round here can get a bit heated at times.
I am a mechanical engineer by trade and now a Career Firefighter. Supernatural is not my kind of thing. There are a few unexplained things though.
I am a open minded, but will always fire a long line of questions. I can be a PITA when it comes to this.

I think it's all in peoples immigination. The more active, the more "haunted" the world seems. Don't get me wrong, I truly WANT to be a believer. I have gone out of my way to try to find one, but never could.

                  Examples:
I stayed in a supposed "haunted" bed and Breakfast
                  results: NOTHING

Walked into the dark in Ahoskie NC countless times in my youth.
results: I saw strange lights that changed color & direction (in front of us, then behind us, up high to down low) but no ghost. My sister went with me one time and she was so scared, that she will not return and doesn't like when I talk about it. I have never been back since that trip, but I'm willing to take anyone there now.

                  Camped out on Elbow rd.
results:Saw and heard nothing but crickets.

Just think, 200 years ago people would have been scared of watching tv. Probably calling it "The Devil Box" or something. My point is we don't know everything nor have we peaked in our knowledge. Granted many of the experiences people have had may be imagination. I myself used to not believe. Until I myself, have had a number of experiences.

People talking to their dogs and cats would have been holding counsel with demons.

funny thing is witches were once believed to be apart of the catholic church, a lot of religions still believe in saints and have symbols from medieval times, even a lot of our holidays have pagan back grounds
like Christmas was brought in to use by a pagan and the 25th of dec was a celebration of the sun god but later adopted by the Church's as the birth of christ
some symbols we see every day, look at the cadusses (see pic)
every body knows this symbol as associated with medicine
its origin is medical but was used by witch doctors in Africa, and weirdly enough on the opposite side of the world by sharman in north america
so much of what people believe to be christian born is in fact the opposite
am i religious NO am i a believer hell yea

For a person that doesn't believe, it seems you go to a lot of places that are "haunted".
