I for one have never had a flu vaccine. I also Go to the gym at least 3 days a week and eat healty, natural foods. This could be part of the reason that I very rarely get sick.

I used to work with a very smart guy who just couldn't understand that there isn't always a cause/effect relationship between events he wanted to tie together. He was the most superstitious guy you could ever meet. He would follow a pattern to walk to his desk and sit down, because if he did it another way his code didn't work. (The target PC was in China - he was in NJ!)
The carrots example was great, Bill!
Sure, some things can cause problems in some people, but they screen for those VERY VERY carefully. As much as I dislike the govt bureaucracies, the FDA is one of the better ones. They actually understand that they're dealing with lives.

I beg to differ, comparing seat belt wearing to being inoculated, by a vaccine that have a history of killing more than the virus....
To say that influenza vaccine kills more than the virus is silly beyond belief. Influenza kills tens of thousands of Americans every year - flu vaccine does not. An interesting side note - in 1976 the swine flu killed one soldier in the US, while twenty-five Americans died from a side effect of the shot (Guillian-Barre syndrome) out of the 48 million who were vaccinated. The GB syndrome can be triggered by exposure to flu virus, or by flu vaccine. How many sufferers would succum by getting the flu rather than the shot is unknown.
Again the botrtom line - your choice. Regardless, I would not want to be told I had to get the shot or else.

Until the H1N1 actually becomes a true pandemic, like the normal flue, which kills almost 36,000 people a year, Im gonna stick to my regular two glasses of OJ each morning, plenty of sunshine and lots of exercise. That routine has helped to avoid getting the flu or needing flu shots for the past 15 years. *knocks on wood*
I too am erring on the side of the H1N1 just being a profit scheme.. I'll let all the toddlers and old people have it first.
I will say that the people saying the H1N1 vaccine is linked to autism just cracks me up. What is there nowadays that doesnt give your child autism? The RTR Nightmare- Electric King of Shaves

Adverse reactions!
One thing to always be aware of and we often overlook is adverse reactions can happen at any time to anyone, Even with common things we are routinley exposed to, our bodies are everchanging and may react suddenly without notice to something it has been exposed to in the past with no ill effect, items ranging form enviormental, foods, mecication and treatments can play havoc with the human body, It does not suprise me that some of us may fall victim to these changes and risks. But I see where the bennefits far out weigh the risk. Each person has to decide for themselves which course to take but always be preparred as there may be consequences in what ever choice you make. You may die from the flu or you may die from the vaccine which in your mind poses the greatest risk to you.Last edited by Hydromaniac; 10-22-2009, 02:25 PM.Comment
