No Dom.... they are a Joke from a standing up for what Conservatives want, standpoint... John McCain is NOT a conservative... He's a Republican... Sarah Palin is a Conservative... So is Bobby Jindal and the Governer of Texas (can't remember his name at the moment...)....

I knew for a fact that once I read the news of President Obama winning due to his worldwide peace efforts that the right wing blogosphere and my favorite RC OT BB's would have at least one thread where the rabid right would be getting their panties all twisted up...

Well, it wasn't "my" 20%. You are quoting from the passage that I quoted written by the DNC Communications Director Brad Woodhouse. I made no statement about the veracity of his claim as to the number of Republicans. I was just happy to see a Democrat with a spine finally.

This award is based on NOTHING but words... no accomplishments, no actions... nothing... The award is being given based on an image... that's it...

WHAT exactly are people celebrating here...??

            Whatever....
Darin, I have to agree wth you, especially on the cutoff date. This is nonsense. What did he do prior to that date to warrant this award.

If this award is going to be handed out (award redistribution) for potential good deeds and saying things some people like to hear I think my 4 year old son deserves one. Why just yesterday he yelled at me from the bathroom "Hey dad, I gotta poop!!!!"

I was just watching the news this morning. Yasir Arafat and Nelson Mandella were both given the prize before anything was done. There still is no middle east peace and Mandella was given the award before Apartheid was abolished. Pat Buchannon was saying that it was wrong to attack Obama because he hadn't done anything wrong. If Obama had given this award to himself, that would be a different story. Can we give this guy a break for once? He is just a man. He is not the cure all, be all, or responsible for all that many put him up to be. He inherited a mess. How we come thru it will be a testament to his visions.

Dom, I am angry on this award, he has done nothing prior to the cutoff date, many talented people wait 20 years or more to be recognized for their huge tributes to mankind by the Nobel tribe

That is your option to be angry. In my opinion, it just makes more sense to be angry with the people who gave out the award. Not the guy who received it.

President Obama has been awarded the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize, less than nine months after taking office. The award comes despite Obama’s continuation of the Iraq war and escalation of the US occupation of Afghanistan. We get reaction from author and journalist Naomi Klein and London-based author and commentator Tariq Ali. [includes rush transcript]

I tend to agree that I think the Nobel Committee made a poor choice for all the right reasons. I see their point in wanting to recognize what Obama has done to change the perception of people, but I would have been happier to see them make an award based on actions.

Having said that, they have made their decision and I think it is in poor form to be critical of the winner rather than the Nobel Committee. To Obama I say congratulations. TO the Nobel COmmittee I say What the Hell were you thinking!!!

Bill... I think if you read my first post... you'll see that is exactly what I was doing... minus the "congrats" to Obama part... since I don't feel like congrats are necessary or warranted...

You know what I am going to do is start up a new political party....Flying Sotsman as president for a new world order. Peace over the world and change, change, change. Then, I will get a big cheque from the Nobel orginisation and buy HPR boats and enjoy my life
