Do you know how Sony and many other record companies pick what songs you'll get to listen to? They run them past a panel (constantly changing groups) who rates the song on a 1-10-like scale. Only the middle of the road ones work. Meaning that the BEST music doesn't get onto the CDs (nor does the worst).

The same concept is used in marketing all over the place. You get the most-consistent ROI by targeting mediocrity.

Smaller record companies (like those who print the music I listen to) hedge their bets better - they put a lot of the mediocre stuff out, but they also get the 10's on the disks. As a result, they can count on a consistent return, but they also get a few super-hits and that's what keeps them moving upward.

The same applies to politicians. And mutual funds.

That's why you diversify. The worst thing you can do is have one party running everything.

You also can't yell, fire! in a theater. I'm not for censorship, in any form...In the 90's a rapper by the name of Luther Campbell ( 2Live Crew)took his case to the supreme court and won! But I'm for labeling, like they now do on Cd's. "News Broadcast" should have labeling also, Foxnews would be label: Entertainment.

Fox has take news to a whole new level. They have confused freedom of speech with deception. As their own lawyers have pointed out, that no where in the constitution does it say that you have to tell the truth.
