Last Stupid Question in 2013 ( Hopefully) lol...

Hello everyone,
I have this question: when I post a video clip from my YouTube channel, I go to my channel, copy the link and paste it in the thread. Only the link ( active) shows and people who want to see it would just click on the link.
But I see other people who manage to have the actual "picture " with the "PLAY" arrow in the middle.
How do I do that?
