I met the driver and his partner, they came to LA last RC GAS SAWs and were battling for the record with Mark Grim all the way to the end of the competition.

This will start your car,” Bontoft said, hoisting one of the two-pound batteries. When the batteries are combined into six packs, roughly 22 volts are given off, with a total voltage of 133 for all the packs when linked together.

The batteries give off enough amps to “make basically 65 to 70 horsepower with the motor we have on it,” he said.

On its first run, the boat did about 78 mph. A few adjustments helped Bontoft to creep the boat’s speed higher and higher.

During the last test, it topped at 101 mph.
That calculates to 133 volts, 390 amps, 12,000 watts using a fork lift motor to go 101 mph in a death trap. Did I figure that right?

There is a 48V class as well, John Paramore is my contact that is what he is doing. It's much slower.

48v record holder Fred Saxby to drive, and at kilos we pushed the
record to 29.007 mph. Right now we're setting up the Karelsen for a
run at the 48v hydro mark this October.

The gearbox was a lightweight set that mounted
the motor slightly forward for better balance and spun the prop up in
the 8,000+ rpm range modern props are happiest at.

This was on the 99mhp boat

Jan, you should tell him to prop up and lay down so he's more aerodynamic !

                        LMAO

The boat is very impressive , check this out also

This is just the tip of the iceberg with full sized electric vehicles , Just wait till 3 phase brushless powerplants in these start to be the norm , these are just field coil brushed pretty much 50 year old tech
