Q: Restoring vintage 1/10 scale rc cars

    I have a couple rc cars. A 4wd Kyosho and a 2wd Kyosho or RC10?? I'll post pics at a later date.

They are very messy. Totally covered in dust and about 10-20 years of nicotine, smoke. What is the best way to get started cleaning these up? Spray down with something or total dis assemble and clean each part.

I would like to do a total tear down but, I would like to clean them off to some degree before I take them apart. Kinda gross...

    Thx.

mix some alcohol and soapy water - this should get the worst of it off.

Ditto, get a gallon of it and just dunk em. Rubbing alcohol won't hurt anything.

I just used Tide to clean my truck. Wasn't super bad but I ended up breaking it down to kit form to make getting the tight spots easier. Blow them off with the compressor before you tear Em down
