Congratulations. I did about six months on the flight sim before my first successful flight in a Parkzone T-28. It was a very satisfying moment. Then a few flights later I got cocky and learned the hard way you can't try the fancy moves you learned on the sim 50 feet off the ground. LOL I do have a Tidewater. Nice bird!

Thanks, it was quite gratifying once the adrenaline stopped flowing!
And thanks for the tip, I'll save the barrel rolls and loops for a while

She is not the best aerobatic plane but you can try barrel rolls and loops. They are pretty simple maneuvers. You just have to start at a higher altitude so if you get disoriented or the plane gets into a bad attitude you have time to recover. She can go into a spin on occasion if you try some fancy flying. The only way out is to push the nose straight down and hit the throttle until you regain control of her.

When you get more comfortable with her, get a Mobius Action cam and shoot some video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EcvBD9jZ_u0

Only tree in the water and you found it,
Nice plane and nice first flight even with the tree stop landing.
              ? ONLY IF THEY WORK

Thanks for the tips! I think I'll log a few more flights before I start getting frisky :)

The Mobius looks pretty trick...and downright affordable. How did you mount your camera on the Tidewater?

Nothing special on the mount. I flattened the top of the nose a bit with a knife and velcroed it down, then a few wraps of electrical tape. I had just gotten the camera and was just experimenting at the time. I have since picked up a used Multiplex Mentor with floats. Much bigger wing span plus I got a Eagletree Guardian gyro stabilizer for Christmas. Hoping to cut down on the vibrations and wing rock making for a better videos.

That was really nice. Fifty hours huh? Well, if I'm going to try flying, I better GET a simulator. I've always wanted to fly. I've got a 30 yr old Electric Cub kit in the closet, built Fuselage but, not the wings... I'd rather start with an ARF. Only thing I'm worried about is how planes disappear into the sky, my eyes aren't the best.

                      Nice flying, keep it up.
