Traxxas XO-1 pulled me back into RC

I have been out of RC for a while. I still have a Twin Cat I built a while back that I havent finished testing yet. But the past couple weeks I have been getting my interest back into RC. I blame it on the XO-1. I wanted one when they first came out but not for what they were selling for. But a couple weeks ago I seen them on tower for like $659. I noticed i get $100 off that being a tower member. Next thing I knew I was ordering one. Ive already started modifying things on it to later accommodate a larger pinion gear. I see where people take these things to wild fast speeds. I see what they are doing to theirs and cant help but think hey I have a few ideas of my own that I dont see anyone else doing. Lets try them out. So all this creative thinking on one project got my interest going thats its already spreading like fire. Ive taken my boat down off the shelf and prepped it for a run. Still need to see what it will really do its just had a maiden run and on the small props going slow. I just need to finish reworking my rescue rig to take out that day as well. Ive started repairing my revo 3.3 also. I really wish it was brushless though. Maybe I'll sell it after I get it going to fund other hobby stuff.
The crazy part is, as of today I have started putting more thought into what my next boat build will be. After the last build I knew that I wanted to build a larger boat next time. Im thinking of another twin cat, but maybe a 60" this time.
Im in the middle of trying to finish our house so its nuts to even think of spending more money on my hobby stuff. But maybe after im done with the house I can start on the next build here.

I can relate. I have four boats to finish but I've transferred energy to my axial exo buggy for the moment. Its been cold and raining here so its not boat weather for me. Ill get back to them before summertime and get them ready.

Hey jp read up on every xo-1 thread you can lots of good info out there of people ddoing the trial and error for u, esspecially about keeping the car on the ground and not in the air which I have heard and seen. That speed will destroy a car real quick- good luck to you

I converted my 1/8 nitro buggy to brushless last week. I wish I had done that long ago. Its actually fun now and not a pita.
