Wanted to share this. Had it given to me about 5 years ago, i just think its a cool collectable. Still new in box with decal sheet..... massive twin D cell electric power!! Woo hoo!!! the outboard is damn groovy too, anyone else seen one? Was wondering how many were made.

Heres what i could find out about this boat. My friend's family have been mercury dealers for many years. About 40 of these hulls were bought to australia in the early 70's and were distributed to merc dealers around the country. As part of a dealer conference a race was organised, lots of the boats turned up with battery and motor mods, and much fun was had at a public swimming pool. This one wasnt used. The other boat he still has is still in the box, but has the decals applied and has a "hot" battery setup.....two packs of four aa batteries wired in series..12v!! (four times the stock voltage).

Im gonna do a bit more of a search to see if i can find out how many were made. Can anyone else can tell me any more about em??

Yeah i had a bit of a look around today as well, saw one mint one went for 198! Ill let him know tomorrow mate, Cant seem to find any production nimbers, but they do look to be quite rare,. From what i can gather there was also a 2stroke version..... Lotsa fun with no r.c!! :-)
