Has any one tryed one of these race buggy yet ?

    Hi,

Looking for my first rc buggy,

Has any one tried one of these yet ?

Or have you heard any good or bad about them ?

This one is cheaper and you get the tx & rx with it.
    http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...dproduct=23846

And this one is the same one, but no tx/rx and cost more.
    http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...dproduct=23840

I think this is almost the same as HK buggy but not sure. http://www.redcatracingoutlet.com/shredder-xb/

And this guy doing some videos on modding it some.

    Thanks for any info.

Lenny I was into car's for a long time. Had thousands in some. Only thing I can say is for the price you would be better of finding something by Traxxas, Losi or some bigger company like that. If and when you break it, and it will happen where can you get part to fix one of the one you have shown. just my two cent on it.

I think this is a rebranded or clone of a Shredder XB,
And parts can be bought from Redcat dealers.
But I am not sure on all of this info.
Is Redcat a good name in rc cars and truck ?

Not from what I know. Never seen anyone race one. Used to race at nearby tracks and never seen one there.

It really depends on what you want to do with the car. That is supposedly a 1/5 scale, but sounds like it would be rather underpowered if so. Where do you want to drive it?

I just watched a couple videos, and it actually looks to run pretty good for what it is. Looks like fun.

Ya know Lenny, why not go for it....
A freind just bought a 1/5 Losi for 1600 last week, and within 10 minutes it fried a servo.
I bet this thing is prolly better that the overpriced garbage out there. Nothing wrong with trying something new.
Even at one time traxxas was cheap compared to the big names.... Turns out traxxas was actually better than the others

Added more info in the first post to another link.http://www.redcatracingoutlet.com/shredder-xb/

I was just looking for a basher or fun buggy to run at the pond or in the yard.
Also for when I need to run some charged cells down,
And I can not run the boats this would be a fun way to do it.

if it is a re branded red cat product...
they might look cheap and maybe in some ways they are. but i have a red cat 4wd truck ( its a brushless one ) and i beat the SNOT out of it, hit trees and basiclly kill it and i have not ONE broken part. but a spur gear! easily over 150 battery packs through it

I bought that same exact tacon 1900 for a boat, and it quit after 5 runs. The armature came to pieces. Wonder how long his lasted

                              Ok up dates,
I got my first buggy and it a Losi scb-xxx and had it gps at 42 on 2s and 53mph on 3s.
It had a trackstar 3800kv in it with a turnigy 35s esc,
Doing a lot of learning with buggy modding and setups now.
Hears some pictures if mine and some others that look very cool.
