    Slash brushless upgrade

You guys got me all jazzed up about modding my kids trucks(I need one soon). So I consulted my buddy Dan at http://kershawdesigns.com/ about upgrading to brushless. I dropped in one of his esc's(which was shipped super fast) and a Feigao 540 9L. She screams. So much so, we geared down a few teeth. The only thing that bugs both my son and I is the fan on the esc. Every time we flick the rec switch, I think something is burning up. Not used to the fan sound.

Is just the 9L faster than the stock brushed setup?

I was wondering the same thing when I first did it. I checked and found some people selling upgrades out there for them. They seem to be running about 3200-3500kv with 540 s sized motors. But I wanted to run an L size motor for heat dissipation and wheelie torque. The only Feigao I have with 1/8" shaft was a 9L. We ran it with just 23 pinion that he had with the brushed motor and it was smoking fast. WAY to fast for my driveway which is about 100 feet long. Blink and its at the other end. We put on the only other smaller pinion we had, which was 19 teeth and its still much fast, enough to put a giant smile on my son Stevie's face.
