    Sprintcat .40 - "Norm"

This is my latest FE project. was going to go twins until i saw the new turnigy outrunner and pressed buy!

It is a sprintcat .40 no hatch, I plan to make a flatish cowl with an enclosed cockpit
I have fixed a large hole in the hull by filling the hole with 3 layers of glass cloth, then one layer over the entire tunnel floor, im going to put some rails in and lay a layer of carbon down for safe keeping.

Power is going to be the Turnigy 4030 1100kv outrunner on 6s - According to Jason @ HK they outsourced the design and manufacture to the factory that makes Hacker motors, take from that what you will.

    ESC - Hextronic 120amp , custom watercooling

    Cells - Rhino 25-35c 6s1p initially

starting prop will probably be around the m445 mark then upwards and onwards

LOTS of work to go, but thats half the fun.

If that motor's performance is anything like the Scorpion HK4025/1100, don't waste time with a 45mm prop. That's too small for the hull anyway and will hardly load the motor. I've run an x450 pitched up and pulled less than 65 amps in my SprintCat40. What capacity cells are you planning on using?

Thanks Jay, I was wondering the same thing. It more of an initial run prop to see if anything breaks.

To start with I will just be running 5000mah 25-35c 6s1p that I have. If it shows promise I will buy 2 5000mah 40c 6s1p packs and parallel for 10,000mah

What props have you found useful on your sprintcat40 with the outrunner?

              Update:

I have laid another layer of glass and a layer of carbon from the transom about 200mm up the tunnel.

Tomorrow I will be cranking up the compressor and priming the outside of the hull also the carbon cylcone, According to the tracking, my motor should be delivered monday so it will be all go!

                  And its here!!!

Check the tracking on my motor this morning, Delivered to the PO box, Woohoo! But it didn't come when the girls went to get the mail, walked the 50 meters to the post office and had the ladies find it for me..

                  Behold!

                  The Turnigy 600, 1100kv

the quality looks pretty damn impressive and as you turn it you can feel each pole, I counted 24 notches in a 360degree rotation does that mean its 12 pole? Who knows? One thing is for certain, this Bad Boy is a monster!

Off to the engineering shop shortly to get some alloy to make a motor mount and some stainless cap screws for mounting!

                          should be...

We will find out very shortly. I may have to go up to 8s, but will try 6s first - Pretty sure Fluid runs his 1100KV scorpion 4025 on 6s in his sprintcat 40 - Fluid can you confirm ?

Next question on the Agenda - Shall I run 3/16 or 1/4 flex cable ?

I run the HK4025/6 on 6S1P in my SprintCat, spinning an x455. It is a little faster on an x557, but less run time.

For 6S the 3/16" cable is plenty; for 8S it will work if you don't run too high power a system or large diameter props. A club member runs a 3/16" cable on a mild 10S mono setup, props no larger than x450. It seems reliable......
