Can anyone tell me what i need stuffing tube wise? Im looking at Jesse's miss elam wire drive as an example but i need some more specifics? Like teflon liner, etc? Also will the stuffing tube go right up to the strut or will i need some kind of step up/down etc. Thanks.

If you are using a wire drive, you do not need a stuffing tube, just where it passes through the hull, I don't know what the sizes are but someone will let you know.
If you go with a flex drive, I can send you a bit of the 25' of copper tube I picked up.

If you run a tube just where it passes through the hull it will be a big leak point unless you're running sealed bearings on the tube on both ends.

I personally wouldn't run an exposed wire drive on anything but a dedicated SAW boat.

I read somewhere you do that, since wires don't whip like flexes would, I guess it would be a big leak.

If you look at this image (from further in the thread) it shows how he closed it all up. The last bit of stuffing tube isn't supporting anything, merely keeping water out:

Not sure if anyone is still following this or not but I guess ill continue to document the build for fun. I guess its not that interesting since its a stock geico motor and esc

just some more pics of the process. Wondering what I should do design wise? dont know if I should try to make up my own design and have some fun with it or just throw on some decals.

                          Ideas?

                          20140612_173041.jpg20140612_173057.jpg

I have now successfully made it look almost exactly how it did when I started no clear yet, working on it.

I like the way this looks with the coke design on the sponson, maybe Ill just find that somehow and throw on some more coca cola decals??

Alright question time. Firstly, why does my 3/16 shaft not fit into my 3/16 strut... I tried a few different 3/16 shafts I already had so im not crazy i dont think.. It just gets stuck. Feel like I did something really stupid and ordered the wrong things.

                            20140616_224936.jpg

And secondly any suggestions on battery placement? I wanna get some advice before I put in the motor mount. Think I should try to fit them into the 'cockpit' or just on the sides? the sides seem more normal but i feel like i heard others say they wish they could get more weight up front.

                            HELP PLEASE
