Apparition on 6s with typhoon 1800kv

Well took the Apparition out tonight with Turnigy typhoon 1800kv and six cell Lipo.
I managed to get 52mph before the gps died on me.
I did 4 WOT runs before bringing it in to check temps esc was 86 motor was 130.
I tryed to get a video but the camera man didn't know how to work the camera.
next time I will be sure to get a video and fully charged gps batteries.

This motor is Awesome even on 4s its much faster than stock and stays cold 80 deg.
Also it has way more torque and I would guess I get an extra 5+ minutes of run time.

I was thinking of putting this motor in the red evo but now I am reconsidering as I think it would be a little much.

forgot to mention prop used 40mm X 1.4.
I think I will try larger on 4s as the esc and motor were ran cool.

Yeah I can't believe the torque difference and the sound they just sound mean.

I will try to post a video soon.

I think I am going to try one in the genesis cat when I get it.

I wonder if a 38mm prop would bring the temps down just a tad on the motor, and maybe even let it rev out a bit more...........may end up being as fast but cooler............????
NEED PARALLEL CONNECTORS?? QUALITY 5.5MM, 8MM, 8 AND 10 AWG, GET THEM HERE: http://forums.offshoreelectrics.com/...est!&highlight=

on 4s it runs a sold 43mph and cool i think it will be a good reliable set up of 4s
my gps is too heavy and causes a bad list so it's probably more like 45

I definably need a smaller prop for running on 6s motor temp was 150 esc was 80.
and something was smoking I am hoping it was just the 4mm bullet connects. I have larger ones on the way.
anyway here is a video on 6s it flys

the other thing I changed was timing from 11.25 deg to 15deg
not sure if that had an impact on the motor heat or not

Yes, it should be at 15 degrees.

I wonder if I can break 60 with this set up will have to try a smaller prop and a smaller GPS.

I'm going to put that typhoon motor in my red evo!
will try it on 4s and work my way up!
                        Small prop also.

                        Wish me luck....hahaha

I'm not so sure. More like 55 I think.
Running T180 CC/Neu 2650Kv on 4s w/440 was 58mph (39k RPM) and had to go up to 8mm motor bullets. I melted the solder connections on the Castle 6.5mm bullets. Probably could have gotten 60 w/442 but kept breaking the drives... Too much RPM.

Depending on your lipo weight and I think the Typhoon is lighter... might get close to 60.

I think that with a small gps I could probably get there the one i am using weighs more than one of my lipo packs.
where does one buy a cheap light gps from ?

I am loving this set up I bought the typhoon for the surge flusher and never installed it before I sold it.

Look for a Forerunner 101-301 or Foretrex. Nice, small and simple. That's what I use. I'm still trying to get my Apparition to break 60 reliably...
