    Default Fishing Torpedo

I am posting this here but it includes information on battery, servo, mixer, etc.
    Fishing torpedo

I am working on building a fishing torpedo with one engine and a rudder.

Want to use it for fishing in the surf. Don’t want to pay for a commercial version plus it is an interesting experiment.

Plan on using PVC as the structure for the torpedo. May mount motor with prop on end of 3” or 4” PVC. See https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-hVp791xC-E
Or mounted below the 3” or 4” PVC . See https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yh9ILm6tSm8

I may add PVC outriggers for stability.

Below is a potential list of parts.

I would appreciate comments and suggestions.

We need more information about what your performance expectations are, and the exact use. Your list of parts makes little sense, mixing brushless motors with brushed ESCs, an automotive jump battery, a push button transmitter switch, a mixer for dual motors (but you say you want to use a single motor). Give us more information and we may be able to give some guidance.

I want to make a fishing torpedo to use to take bait out thru the ocean surf.

I want to be able to turn the power on and off and change the rudder direction remotely.

The motor and casing I ordered is recommended for this purpose. This is a 12V system. I agree of the motor and esc. I thought the esc I listed was brushless. The 12 Volt Lipo battery where designed to be used to jump cars can be used to power the motor and the rudder thru the esc. I have found youtube links that show car jumper batteries powering trolling motors. I can connect two of these batteries in parallel to increase the power supply amperage. I was thinking that the mixer could be used to direct power to one esc and the rudder servo. My sample wiring diagram shows two motors and one servo where I plan on using one motor.

The push button switch includes the receiver. Don't know if that switch would work to power the motor and the rudder.

    Thank you for your help.

I never knew such boats existed and then today by accident found this on Allie-express. The pandas must have eaten all the bamboo and there is none left for fishing poles.

Went to a rc hobby store today and they told me that 2.4 transmitter recovers won’t work for long distance rc boats because of short antenna length. Thinking of building my fishing torpedo with outriggers and a platform where I could mount an auto or cb antenna which would be aces single line of sight. Would appreciate your comments/suggestions.

Looked online and I understand that a 2.4ghz antenna is only the top unshirlded 31 of that antenna. Therefore I believe that I need to find a 2.4 ghz rx that has a replaceable antenna. Then make an antenna mast of the appropriate length and attach the replacement antenna to it with the top 31 mm above the mast.

Any thoughts or comments are appreciated.
