Default *** 2016 Atlanta Spring Nationals Results ***

    Hey Gang,

The weather was PERFECT, the boats were FAST, and the competition was FIERCE! Thanks again to all the racers who traveled from near and far to participate in the 2016 Atlanta Spring Nationals. We had a fantastic group of racers in attendance this year. Everyone raced HARD, but tempers never flared… I saw more smiles, high fives, and fist bumps than ever before. The crew on the tower did a phenomenal job all weekend calling the event and keeping track of the scores. Working the tower is often a thankless job, but when you get it right… people notice! When the roster tails settled and the retrieve boat hit the dock for the final time the following individuals walked away with the hardware:

    Congratulations to all the winners.

BIG Congratulations to Mr. Tyler Davis on his P Limited Cat win!! The young man flat drove his butt off!!
Of course, he had a good pit man which didn't hurt.

Thanks for making the race fellas. We had a blast!!

We did too Doug. Sunday night we found a great pizza joint in Peachtree. We were sitting talking about next year this, next year that. On the way home we were watching for a smart midway point instead of driving straight through. So we must have had fun.

I've said it before, but you have a pretty good gang down there. No BS attitudes that I could detect. Families that are there to hang with like minded people that can laugh at and with each other. Good racing sure but that's only part of a good event for me.

I would describe this site as crisp. Like that first Northern Spy apple from the cider mill.

Took this pic 5 minutes before Sundays drivers meeting.

    Great Event.
Although I have raced at about 10 other races with the Atlanta Model Boaters
this was actually my first time to the Atlanta home club site. It did live up to the billing.
Thanks for accommodating my son Fede and I. He is still learning and the ADHD is
sometimes a challenge, but he loves the racing and seems to be getting better every event.
Great seeing all the Georgia crowd, and getting the chance to hang and have dinner with the MMEU team.
Hopefully we will see Doug and Don and maybe some others from the Atlanta club at the Michigan Cup.

You guys are a bad influence! I think the FE bug has bitten my younger Bro Carey... He was E-mailing earlier today wanting a parts list for building a P-Limited JAE Rigger. He lives really close to the pond in Huntsville, AL so he has somewhere nice to practice. Maybe being over there with David Hall he can pick up a few JAE pointers!

    Enjoyed it immensely!

Might I add that I thoroughly enjoyed the whole event, and the racing was absolutely outstanding.
What a well organized event, very well managed and crowd pleasing.

I shot these (6) videos of some of the FE Heats. I believe there are 6 different heat winners here.
    Hope everyone enjoys them.

BTW, those Open Gas Hydro's are KILLER.

    Sweet!

That Wildthing is ridiculous. I finally burned the caps completely off the ESC in the runoff with Lamar.

Nice videos and I'm glad you guys enjoyed the event!

I brought a knife to a gunfight in that runoff with Terry... I'm just glad his gun jammed! LOL

Can you believe I actually have that Meltdown. I ran out of camera memory, but captured this on my smart phone.

Good job by Greg & Rick on those photos. Very enjoyable.

Here is a scary moment, happening right in front of the Leader.

Whew... That was a CLOSE one... That's me driving the Yellow boat! I do remember puckering up when the other cat came flying across my lane...
