    Knock off castle 2200kv

I bought this at the beginning of last year not knowing it was a fake. I paid the gentleman $75 with no jacket. I've since read all over about these motors and they seem to be fine as everyone says. I am selling because I have no use for it right now and could use the money to fund other projects at the moment. I am wanting to get at least $50.00shipped within the USA with the jacket if possible.IMG_20180303_200003181.jpgIMG_20180303_200047895.jpgIMG_20180303_200123209.jpg

How can you tell if it’s not a legit castle motor?

Mounting holes on 1515 are 25mm and 1521 are 1in.(25.4mm).

Castle is printed upside down on the edge of the can on one and right side up on the other. The dimensions and mounting holes were all the same.

Writing on the wires are different to. Some say the bearings are not as good as the Castle.

I wanted to post this from a West coast friend of mine that is a racer/builder.

The likelihood that this motor (and other similar motors) are fake is nil, in spite of what “some say/I heard or read somewhere” – the “some sayers” having never fully researched or even TRIED these motors or have actually performed valid comparison testing based on empirical data. What is operational is that a single motor OEM gets an order from a major vendor (like Castle or Traxxas) and may initially flub the cosmetic specifications on the first production run or even have leftover product after projected scheduled re-orders haven’t materialized. This unsold inventory then finds its way to market through established backdoor channels( very likely traceable back to the initial OEM). To avoid conflict with the original mass quantity order customer a cosmetic variation may be initiated to avoid legal hassles. This explanation makes more sense than surmising that a copycat manufacturer tools up to produce counterfeit product for such a small market demographic and after taking the trouble to produce identical/copycat items and then accidentally messes up the lettering or some such thing(s). I’ve (and fellow racers) have used various and sundry examples of these motors with absolute confidence and race-winning results. Fact is too that these "Green" motors plus the Black Castle/Traxxas MXL-6S versions) are originally intended for 6S operation and equipped with bearings capable of sustained higher rpm than the common 4S use in P-Class boats
