SEO to Double by 2014

Interactive marketing will near $55 billion and represent 21% of all marketing spend in 2014 as marketers shift dollars away from traditional media and toward search marketing, display advertising, email marketing, social media, and mobile marketing. This cannibalization of traditional media will bring about a decline in overall advertising budgets, death to obsolete agencies, a publisher awakening, and a new identity for Yahoo!

To me it has seemed like the industry has been growing a lot faster than 50%. The percentage of people who talk my ear off about SEO is SO much higher than it used to be it seems like everybody knows about it now and if they aren't asking me to help they are thinking about asking.. I know I know, that's not a scientific indicator. I think doubling by 2014 is very realistic.

Is this when they target a user with certain advertising based on his search engine activity? Like what yahoo and google do?
