Default My freshly Painted SV27, Acura Pearl White, with a little extra blue/red flake

Whats up guys, this is my first sv i bought, i have two now, this one will be the one i run in the modifed sv class when im ready to, the other one I have will be my stock spec, beater boat, hahah. Not this one thought im gonna try and keep this one nice and staright. I patched up the front nose area has a decent sized chip, and threw some nice CF Viynl on it in somes spots, still waiting on my Famous Stars & Straps Decals I ordered for it.

I mounted the stock SV HW for now until i get some money built up so i can get speedmaster hw. I knife edged the rudder blade, turned out nice, The trim tabs are from kintec racing, they were blue, but i removed the blue and celaned up the edges on them, they came a little rough, so i sanded them down.
Its turning out nice, liek i planned so far!

Let me know what you guys think, im going to spray the stock sv hw with a titanium color tommorow.
Its hard to catch the pearl and flakes indoors, but this thing gleams!

    Polish it man!

I spent a little over 2 hours on my rudder.

Sanded with 440 and 320 and then used my meguiars NXT polish to shine it up.
Its got a couple flaws on the water pick up side of the rudder that im going to fix.
I need to do my strut and turn fin next i just havent done any research to find a better way to remove the anodizing yet.

Looks awesome, if i might ask what was your prep work like and what did you use. I want to repaint my sv but im afraid of the paint peeling off with the hatch tape.

    hey hydro.

As for prep i sanded everything down with 320 grit till the old orange paint was dull, alittle shiny here and ther but no biggy.

Then I sprayed white base coat down, took about 4 coats of base to cover the ols orange good.

Then sprayed the acura pearl white, 3 coats to cover good.

They Sprayed a mixture of red/blue flake and little clear.

    then 2 coats of clear.

I must say though, if anyone is redoing the boat sand down the black windsheild part all the way, if not the basecoat will grab that black and make it flake up bad, so make sure you sand all that black away.

If anyone wants custom paitn done pm me my cousins own a bodyshop, i do all prepping on everything when i can, when im not working.

We will charge very little! and we do great work, can do repairs also.

my boat was only $60 prep/paint supplies, so somewhere in that range if anyone is interested, just depends on what u want done!

The water pickup on the trim tab works great. Much better than the stock rudder pickup. It has a fairly large brass tube inlet. I really like the Kintec parts.
