My boat would float away or sink before I could get it in that way...

The UL-1 has a perfect place to push from...right between the sponsons...you just need another boat ready to do the duty.

Why does it sink? How are you securing the hatch?

    Default Retrieval

You will need a second boat. Then get a fishing reel on a rod with 20lb test line and attach the swival clamp onto an approprate spot at the back of the boat. Open the bail of the reel and send the second boat out and hook around the disabled boat and stop. Close the bail and reel in both boats together. Reel the boats in slowly. You may have to do this a few times before both boats lock up. We have done several times as far as 100 yds away. It will also help if have a screw or pin on the top of boat. This will help snag the line when (and not if) you blow over.

    Don't forget the hatch tape!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Get a tug and have fun with another boat while your doing the rescue. I push my rescues in this manner to keep water from going up the stuffing tube and flooding the inside.

I like to watch for the studder bump and bring it in before she goes. Once you've run it enough to know about how long your run times are your should be able to bring it in before you even use the studder bump.

The only time mine has leaked was after a wreck when nailing the marker buoy. She dug in nose first and did about 5 end over ends. The hatch seal broke loose on that one. Hatch tape works great most of the time....
