    Todd,
These bad boys should keep your SV27 stuck in the water no matter how rough the water is! I think they look awsome!

This should be a bit faster, with less tuck than the Grim TF.

I used one similar to this one on my UL-1 and made a world of diffrence.

what is the advantage of having a larger turn fin ?. My SV has stock turn fins. It still seems to turn better to the right than it does to the left .

The main reason for that is the right turn fin is closer to the rudder as well as the direction of the props rotation.

Anything that hangs off the boat and down into the water will induce drag. So in theory you should only use turn fins if the boat doesnt control well. With that being said I put turn fins on all of my monos. Call it force of habit, whatever. They certainly are not needed on every hull. The idea behind turn fins is that they only get "wet" when you are turning. They are not needed in a straight line (unless you got bigger problems occurring) so keeping them out of the water when on plane is going to give you the most performance.

Defining how big they should be in another consideration. Acting like a fixed rudder you dont want big monsters. I like the 22 to 25mm wide turn fins on smaller monos. In the 24 to 29" size. And 30 to 40mm on hulls up to 40". Havent owned a mono bigger then that so I dont have any experience. Remember the wider they are the greater the drag in a turn. Its possible they can act like a brake in tight turns. That can be a good thing or a bad one. Only playing around will determine that.
