Just thought I'd share my Son's 3rd Grade Science project that we worked on this weekend... Potato Power, with a twist!

Each of these copper tubes was pressed through a russet potato, then a Galvanized (Zinc) nail was pressed down the center. Each "cell" puts out .940V and 1.40mA... Wired in a series 5 cells, the total voltage measures 4.60V, and has been powering the little green LED for over 15-hours at this point...

Was hoping to power a small CPU fan (5V, 0.09A), but not enough current at this point...

I'll be petitioning for a NAMBA rule change for the additional chemistry shortly! :D

Funny you should mention that, Bill.... Tommy and I were both wondering if my Hyperion would recharge the cells! I figured it would either recharge them, or make baked potatos!
