line6,
not sure what could be wrong? We have two SV27. My brother in-laws was brand new and mine was bought used with about 10 runs. And both were measured with a gps around 27 to 30 with two 6 cell nimh. What is your setup?
I never ran the stock prop on a gps? What are you measuring your speed with? Have you ran a 220? And if so what speed you getting with that prop?
Where are you guys putting the batterys. I'm installing the fair far forward that might be the problem.

with the nimh the batteries were in the stock position. with the lipo's there a bit more forward. Lets say the top of the battery is inline with the motor mount. Not sure what the COG is?
Ah 6 cell thats prob the dif. Im runing lipos
My best is 36mph using the S220 on my stock SV..
and 40mph with a CF48
How have your temps been with the UL-1 motor in the SV?
Not box stock
37 i put it back to stock. it goes 42 with a detounged x442. I put the 8xl and the hydra 120 in my new delta29. AWESOME boat.
That's sweet! I seen the vids when you were running 58 and 60 with your sv27 with that setup!
LOL Ya it was fun making it go that fast.
So I figured out why I'm not going as fast as other SV27. My trim tabs were bent down about 5 deg from the previous owner and I never looked at them. I bent them out to about 1 deg down now. The strut is parallel with the keel and the rudder slightly back away from the transom.
So now all I have to do is wait for my order of bullet connecters and thrust bearing. Hopefully it'll be a little faster with the new tweaks.
It will be faster. Also more unstable in the chop.
