    line6,
not sure what could be wrong? We have two SV27. My brother in-laws was brand new and mine was bought used with about 10 runs. And both were measured with a gps around 27 to 30 with two 6 cell nimh. What is your setup?
I never ran the stock prop on a gps? What are you measuring your speed with? Have you ran a 220? And if so what speed you getting with that prop?

with the nimh the batteries were in the stock position. with the lipo's there a bit more forward. Lets say the top of the battery is inline with the motor mount. Not sure what the COG is?

Yea that could be. I know with the lipo I'm only getting 37 with the Prather 220. When I get my boat up and running again I'll try the stock prop and see what speed I get.

I think the cog should be around 8 1/2 from the transom with lipo's?? Seen that number around here on the forum somewhere.

I'll also read 7 1/2 so go figure. I think I'm lossing some speed with all the weight up in the front but she planted for for sure. I'll add some velcro and mess with the cg.

So I figured out why I'm not going as fast as other SV27. My trim tabs were bent down about 5 deg from the previous owner and I never looked at them. I bent them out to about 1 deg down now. The strut is parallel with the keel and the rudder slightly back away from the transom.
So now all I have to do is wait for my order of bullet connecters and thrust bearing. Hopefully it'll be a little faster with the new tweaks.
