Default Looking for motor and esc for school project

    Hi,
I'm starting a school rc boat competition and I'm looking for a motor and speed controller for it.

The idea is to have a common radio and propulsion kit that will be distributed to each school. I'm a bit familiar with remote/receiver and brushless motors/esc's from building drones but I don't know much about the motor used for electric boats. Especially I need something that can idle slow and has reverse capability unlike drones motors. Ideally I'm looking for something not too powerful (more fishing/cruising boat style and less speedboat style) and ready to use without having to modify any firmware (I remember reprogramming ESC's back in the day and that was painful). Something air-cooled (vs water-cooled) would also be ideal to keep the built simple and compact.

Any recommendation ? Where should I look ?

You might want to mention the what size boat and how fast you would like it to go. Picture of the boat also what size batteries are you planning on using? Are you going to run them in a pool , pond or lake?
