Hey guys, I?m new here and to the sport. I have a proboat ul-19 that I want to upgrade so that I can run 6s most of the time. Does any one have any motor/esc combos that would work good for that? Thanks in advance

a 4092 is what can take 6s wattage continuously. what kv you pick depends on the props you have or are willing to buy. the lower the kv the bigger props you can run and generally can dial in the prop choice better to control heat and different water conditions. the cheapest motor is the rocket RC from amazon. theyre pretty decent. TP motors and SSS are higher grade chinese made motors and are more serious. TP 4060 = 4092 and can handle more wattage than leopard or rocket RC.
4060 refers to the diameter and internal stator length instead of the outer can dimensions everyone else uses.
Thanks, any suggestions on an esc?
ose raider 150a and use 8mm connectors on it and the batteries. EC5 is only rated for 120A which you will exceed easily.
Awesome, I ordered the esc, now just going to research the motors and pick one. I?m just running the stock prop, and don?t plan on racing it, just want to be able to sustain running on 6s. I already have dual pickup rudder and larger tubing for cooling
Dual pickup won't really help you much, as cold water always gets to the motor first, assuming that is how it's set up.
It will keep the ESC cooler, but don't think that will be an issue.
Yes, running dual pickup on some of mine as well, but reality is setting in and you won't see any gain.
Use Leopard or SS motors for what you are doing, cheap and reliable. Look in the store on this site, will have the best pricing and great service.
You might have trouble fitting a 4092 motor, esc and batts in a UL19. It comes with a 3660 size motor and a 4092 is overkill. I would suggest a 3674 or 3682 motor of around 1600 kv. That will give you good speed on 6s and be reliable and fit without major mods. You can play around with props later for better speed if you want, bearing in mind that more speed equals less runtime and reliability.

You look at this completely the wrong way. The UL19 is a 30"boat. It has a 3650 2000kv motor rated at 680W. Suggesting a 4092 at over 3000W is ridiculous.
Best options;
SSS 3674 1500/1900kv 1400W
Leopard 3674 1700 kv 1200W
TP 3640 1570kv 1350W
For the OP, my suggestion would be spend the little bit extra on the TP motor. Whichever brand you go with, it gives you a more powerful motor than stock and you can pick a kv that suits your running expectations, which by the way you haven't said. If you want to do zoom zoom, then pick a higher kv, if you want a longer runtime but stable running then go lower kv. On 6s at around 1600 kv you can still run 60 mph. If you are happier at 45-50 mph then go lower kv, maybe 1300-1400.

1200w-1400w is 4s territory. there is literally no reason to change motors as the dynamite 3831 will easily handle 150A on 4s, 50-55mph, and not bat an eye. if you go to those smaller 40 series motors you cant really maximize 6s. you can run smaller props and run longer, though. or do speed runs. but they will not take sustained lapping or anything. my 4070 gets hot in my outrigger pushing 70mph laps, which takes nearly 4000w.
in that case the OP is better off buying real good batteries and some props and staying on 4s with the stock motor. (which is a real good motor)

ABC 1716-17-45 prop
= 55mph lapping

heres a couple UL-19's with 4092's
Op wants a 6s boat, reliable and fun to run, ul19 with 4092 size motor is a heavy and extremely fast set hard to get the COG right with a larger motor.. takes skill to get a boat that fast and heavy tuned in.. I say 3674 or 4074 size in the 1600-1800kv range on 6s
