am quite surprised to learn this easily fits a 4070. I bought this to put a dynamite 3831 from my little 27" mono. was gonna use this motor and esc (180A HV) for a sport 40 build this winter.

progress. Just got this kit this afternoon! boom tube liners in, hatch done, top rails in, ski done. cowl easily clears the motor and water lines!

I'm running a Leo 4074 2000kv on 6s with a 150 Raider ESC, it hits high 80's quite easily with a X645 de-tongued prop. My PB is 89mph. ESC gets a little warm (140F) after a full 6000mAh pack, running fairly hard. Can easily keep it below 120F with a little care.

it is a 1520kv. its really a 6s motor but I dont have any 6s packs at the moment. so I will probably run a x440 or x640 on 8s. ESC is a 180A flier.

what I will do first to get it setup and shaken down is run a 2280kv 3670 motor on 4s2p with a H6 clone prop (tfl 1450).

got any advice for me on CG and turn fin setup?

Nice. I personally think that'll be good for 8s (Others will likely disagree, but I like high RPM).

I'm definitely no expert with riggers, I built mine as a basher and haven't really messed with it much. With my limited experience; COG seems to be quite forgiving. Turn fin angle has the biggest impact for sure, a little adjustment can make a big difference. And depending on the lift characteristics of each prop, some slight adjustment may be needed. With how easy the fin is to adjust, just mess around with it and see. I started with it in the neutral/middle position and went from there. I adjust mine constantly depending on water conditions and if I'm wanting to do some fast turning or speed runs. Tons of fun.

bogged down with the build due to the sealer stage. Using polyester resin because its what I have on hand. well mixing it with acetone to thin it makes it stay sticky for days. I tried again with straight resin, no thinning agents, and it cures before you can finish the dang mixing cup almost. work fast, be sparring on the MEK!

sponsons done and sealed. they look good from a few feet away. definitely not the quality of 2k clear coat but that's fine for me.

turn fin ready. Im not sure if Im supposed to sharpen it or not. the manual said not to. but the online PDF said to sharpen in to a .020 edge.

waiting on a flex shaft to start sealing the tub as Im going to resin the stuffing tube in and seal the inside at the same time. Just want to make 100% sure the stuffing tube is well aligned first.

started monday morning out expecting my package in the mail. Decided to try sanding the globs of sealer and spraying with laquer clear coat. worked out really good.

they shipped my package to the wrong towns post office. so I said screw it and began sealing the inside of the tub.

Got the stuffing tube in using a piece of old flex shaft cutoff. glad I saved that. Forgot to get pics of the process. I went ahead and sealed the bottom and installed the ski.

guy at the local flying club pulled up and asked if I wanted to buy an old plane box for $20. filled with USA made tools, starter, 30+ glow plugs that happen to work perfectly in my K&B nitro tunnel hull. So I said screw it this will be my boat stand too. Trusty pitbull pictured for good measure.....dont you touch my 1994 vintage box!!!

I did not install the battery tray. instead I used heavy duty velcro on the bottom and the X above the battery. You know what that is if you've built one.

Wiring is all 8mm and 8 awg for those big amps on 4s2p that Ive decide I will run exclusively. maybe enter a P race????

Maiden today. No adjustments needed to turn fin or CG. trim, end point, and steering speed still needs some kinks worked out. my driving is atrocious as usual.
