Hi,
Just wondering if anybody is using the new G2 300 amp ESC, and can report how they are going with them, Bit of a review if you like compared to the older one, good points, bad points?
Thanks
Trevor

I'm using one in a 48" mono with a SSS 56123 700kv motor on 12s. Great luck with it so far. Runs very cool and performs well for me running the same props that I did using a 30cc modified Gizmo engine before.
Forgot about this thread - however have seen some horror stories about the G2 lately, many people stating they need extra Cap's
Very expensive Hpr150 loss (hull also ruined from the fire)
And a bulgarian cat
I have no connection to these boats or can state what the owner did / didn't do however like all ESC's they aren't unbreakable.

Hello,
from the info i remember reading - the Esc let go and then shorted the battery taking it all out including the hull.

The bulgarian is my boat. The ESC's wouldn't take full throttle on a common 12S SAW setup for this particular boat with mild props. Couldn't even make a pass with it at the shootout this summer. Got home, loaded a test firmware file from the engineers at ZTW, and on the first pass, one of the ESC's exploded in flames. I know several other's who experienced the same issues with their G2's, and didn't dare try the new software after my experience. I stripped the boat and ordered a new set of the orignial V1's which can handle the setup without a sweat. Very disappointed.
