Default another Impulse 32 Spektrum motor question - cooling

This is a snip of the stock Impulse 32 motor and cooling hose routing:

    __________^ water in from rudder

I'm upgrading the cooling lines with larger ID silicone hoses, larger through hull fittings, and probably changing the routing.

The oem hose routing does not make sense to me so I'd like your opinions.

This water flow path makes the most sense to me:
    1. The water inlet to the motor should be at the rear (towards the stern) water jacket hose barb.
    2. The water outlet should be at the front (towards the bow) water jacket hose barb.
    3. The water jacket should be rotated so the bow hose barb is located as close to 12:00 as possible.

The oem hose routing is completely opposite to what I wrote above. What say you?

Of course you are right. The Horizon designers and China fabricators have no idea what they are doing. Their target market doesn't know any better. Guys show up at the lake with all kinds of problems that can't be fixed because no aftermarket parts will fit. Let me know if I sound bitter.

Get a much longer jacket if you?re worried about the motor getting hot.

My wife says everything I do is over the top so I gotta keep up with her expectations.... LOL

Since I'm new to the RC Boat hobby but totally captured... I can see my next venture is building a mono hull.
Pull the motor first, to see if there is clearance for a longer cooling can.

Thanks and will do. I'll see if there is extra room in the motor mount.
