Type of wind on my Spektrum motor?

    Hi All.

My Proboat Impulse 32 came with a Spektrum 3682 4 pole 2000Kv brushless motor; p/n SPMXMM1100. I've scoured the internet but can't find anymore specs on it.

Does anyone know if this motor is a D or Y wind?

I just run the boat for fun while on our pontoon boat (our dog goes crazy watching/following the Impulse racing around! It's hysterical!) and planned to adjust the motor timing for cool running; not necessarily for more speed.

    Thank so much!

The default timing from HH is 7.5. I hoped setting the timing lower would help reduce temps if it's a D wind. Not that its running hot but just to make it run even cooler. I'll try 0 and 3.75 degrees and see what changes.

I thought maybe there is a way to check the wind type using a digital multimeter or some other tool.

I'll also send HH and Spektrum an email and see if I get an answer.

Confirmed by HH... all their marine motors are Y wind.

Thanks. Default timing on Sonic Wake is only 0 deg

OH NO, now the motor will run to cold!

Ya know, it really doesn't matter at all.

Well.... I don't know these things. I did a ton of searching and there are many "timing" threads on this forum so it's not just me that is reading/writing/learning about timing. I set it back to the Spektrum default of 7.5 degrees and I don't plan to mess with it anymore. It's good enough for what I do with the boat.

You're absolutely correct!!! The default setting on any esc I know of, is OK regardless of the wind.
