I am seeing a number of P Ltd class monos and P Ltd Sport Hydros upgrade/move up to full P class. I am interested in insight and opinions as to what would be the ideal/preferred motor and ESC/Battery combo for the P class upgrade.

There is no simple answer. Lots of great combo's out there depending on how fast you want to go, what props you want to run, how long you want to run and how much you want to spend.

Hey Tyler,
Thanks for the reply. My thread was probably worded poorly. I wasn't really looking for "The Answer", but interested in some of the combos that some of the guys have tried and liked... Thanks

Typically what I see in full P anything, 40mm motors in the 1900-2300kv range, 8,000mAh+, 200A+ ESC.
Kelly,
Which hulls are you interested in running full P in ?

I currently have a 32" MLB Wildchild with a G-10 bottom and an MLB GP310..kinda modified sponsons...both running a Leopard 36X60 2200kv. In the last race I entered the WildChild finished 3rd (blew it off) and the GP310 finished 1st place. I am running 4S 6500mah batteries. I am not sure if I would upgrade these, especially the GP310...battery space it tight.
What esc’s are you using?
Currently using an HW 180, but it wouldn't be able to handle the increased draw of a larger motor....I am done with Swordfish ESCs ...too many problems with my 1/8 Scale FE using them bought one of the Castle XLX2 for it....
Are you racing with NANBA or IMPBA
They have different Max size battery Rules.
NAMBA - 10,000 mAh Max on board. up to "Q" class, S and T classes 12,000 Max.
IMPBA - NO Limit at all.

I race NAMBA, as far as I know there are no IMPBA races near here. I have had good luck with the HW 180..so far, but it would not be sufficient for a P motor depending on the watts of the motor. I only mentioned the XLX2 in passing as a replacement for problematic Swordfish ESCs on my 1/8 FE Scale.
Thanks everyone for your replies...I appreciate it.
