Default Altamotive (Brent Byers) Wire Drives

    Hey guys,

Over the years I kept asking Brent for smaller 3/16" and .098" wire drives to suit smaller Nitro and FE boats bridging the gap between Jeff Wholt's hardware and Brent's gas hardware. Earlier this year Brent asked for some help in making recommendations and I came up with a recommendation guide. I may not have the part numbers correct, but you can reach out to Brent and ask for the correct model.

Click on the PDF link at the bottom:

    You can reach Brent here:

Brent is now making several additional sizes:

1/4" Stub shaft to .125" wire
1/4" stub shaft with 3/16" step down to .125" wire
3/16" stub shaft to .125" wire
3/16" stub shaft to .098" wire

    Excellent post!

I?ve got a couple boats I might want to swap over to wire. What size stuffing tube is recommended with the .098? and the .125? wires? The boats I?m considering are tuning 3/16 in a 1/4? stuffing tube with no Teflon now.

I was trying to get Jeff Wholt to make a couple wire drives for my Miss Geico 36 . Wonder if Brent would be interested in making them for me.

I gave up on wire drives on that boat (Zelos36). The length was too short and the bend too severe, which cause a lot of spring tension against the trim angle and I snapped more than one.

Those are nice and remind me of die ejector pins. How much bend can you put on a 0.098" wire drive?
