    Default antenna repair

    i have a mr3000 spectrum receiver with a antenna that is hanging on by a strand . about middle of antenna. can i solder this or order new antenna ?? tks Al

    A 2.4ghz coaxial antenna needs to have an exposed center conductor length of 31.2mm (1/4 wavelength). You can repair an existing antenna by stripping away the outer shielding on a good portion of the remaining antenna wire to expose 31.2mm of the inner insulation/conductor. Problem is, the shorter antenna might not be long enough to extend outside of the hull. I believe the MR3000 has antennas with an IPX13 style removable connector on them, so it's likely they sell replacements
