What would be a great motor and ESC for a JAE FE33 rigger? Would like to run on 4s and 6s

We have a handful of guys here on the west coast of Florida who have a local Q/Limited class. Several JAE 33's using $80 leopard 40X74's 1400-1700 Kv and $50 Flycolor 150's on 6S. 5-6000ma and speeds 65-70 mph in 6 lap setup. This is an economy class with decent speed. You can upgrade to larger 40X82 and 40X92 with bigger ESC's and make it into the 80's but not have the handling. Also tumbles at 80 break things.

Thank you
What prop do they run?
I must have overpropped my boat it burnt up the wires to speed controller, I believe the cables are to long and 2 small to carry amp load, it was screaming fast but melted supply wires to ESC
I’m running mine Nue 1515 2200kv motor with OSE 150 raider esc. I’m running H7 prop and I’m running 70mph.

Thank you so much! MIC I need all the help I can get i ran a prop that was to large, the electric motor turned it but over current the capacity of supply wiring
Mic if I run a Leopard 40?92 what size speed controller will I need to support the motor amp draw and will 100c 8000mah packs be enough? On 1819 ABC prop?
I also should have asked the recommendation on KV motor, I have a swordfish 200amp speed controller is that large enough?
I don't want anymore melt downs, is this mainly from overpropping the motor and ESC it is a 40?72 and 150amp speed controller but I dont know KV, pulling out and removing cooling Jacket, is Specktrum 180 marine any good for application on 6s

On 6S stay between 1250 and 1700Kv. KV's are like gears giving more rpm and with that higher load which narrow prop selection.
On a 2-3 watt peak motor (40X74) the Flycolor is the best bang for the buck. I have no use for a Seaking180 and the Swordy 200. A bit stouter than a 150 but won't survive 40X92 power 4-5 watts
I CAN'T STRESS THIS ENOUGH. Get a Castle X8 or XL2 and use the data logging to really learn power and load. The $200-350 is well spent and not the place to save money. I could send you a box of crispy Swordfish and Seakings that would have bought 4-5 Castles that I still would be using.

Don't go off the deep end without a good life preserver (ESC) In the total cost of your FE boat that extra money will pay for itself.
If you just want cookie cutter advise and to copy others setups then stay on the safe end. If you really want to go fast a cut above, then your choice is learn or burn. Burn involves open ended charge card.

Great advice, I have already learned that the hard way, I had a pretty good meltdown already, I have a boat setup for 6s that has been tested and tried the FE33 JAE was originally setup on 4s I wanted to go faster and put on 6s and had a wire meltdown, I know from past gas/nitro setups, trying to go cheap just ends in failure, thank you for the advice, I need a good ESC and motor and try like you said to log progress, I understand electricity higher voltage lower amp draw, lower voltage greater amp draw, KV and watts and what load can be applied is my shortfall to understand amps/ watts with KV and load
I need to pm you some time Mic to get a great setup together, I love speed and have been a nitro and gas guy for some time, im pretty smart but you are only as good as the knowledge of what you are dealing with, new realm for me F.E
Rather learn than burn!!!
