I upgraded the motor to turnigy 3674 2200kv and seaking 180a but now my sr80 full speed is like 1/3 of full speed when I run on stock motor and esc. The engine rev sound is amazing and powerfull though. What could be a problem? Drive shaft?

What size propeller are you using, might be cavitation.
Do you know what the biggest problem with the world is?
That the Smartest people are full of doubts while the stupid ones are full of confidence.::tt2
Everything is stock except motor, esc and fin.
5s. I run 4s or 5s on stock and its much faster. 6s on stock and the boat is flying. New motor and esc and the speed is like 10-20 mph.
Switch motor wires, might be in reverse throttle
on 4s you gonna get about 50 mph with a x445 prop. on 5s with a 440 prop 52 mph with some cavitation, try experimenting with a 3 bladed 440 prop. on 6s 55 mph with a 437 prop and some cavitation and a bit of heat. Those are my calculations ideally 4S would be a safer setup.

Did you do a throttle range adjust per manual for your ESC?
Might also have to reverse throttle to get 100%, pending your transmitter. It's in the Seaking 180 manual.
Im not sure about the throttle calibration. I have a dumbro x6. All I did is turn on the controller while holding down the trigger then plug in the battery and release the trigger when I hear 2 beep. The motor rev is amazing so not sure its not 100%.
No, that's not it, read the ESC Manual, it's easy to do.

I think i did it right. What part is not right?
I have a Arrma Limitless car that ran faster in reverse than forward. I had the motor wires crossed and thought by changing the switch on the transmitter it would fix it, nope. I reset the ESC to the right directions and hooked up the motor wire correctly and radio set right and BAM she's running 100 mph now.
I'd start with motor direction first and only go with forward in the ESC first, but once you get the transmitter, ESC and motor correctly program and wired you'll be back in business.
I just got back from the lake today with my SR80 with OSE 150, 3674 2200kv leopard motor, 187 flex shaft with stock prop (?) runs very fast on 5S

I believe DumboRC is 'Futaba like' and you have to set throttle to reverse.
1. Next, you perform the throttle range adjust
2. Cycle ESC power and if the motor runs in the wrong direction, switch 2 motor wires
Done
If that doesn't solve it try again in the forward position and keep the sequence. Don't ever use the transmitter throttle reverse for anything else.
Any device to test if motor runs at full speed without put the boat to water?
You can hear the change in rpm anywhere. This is a simple procedure though and can be done at the lake.
I can hear the motor from slow to full speed but I guess the full speed I currently have is not full speed. I put a 4082 without connect the shaft so I can hear the rpm only and I can tell it sound different than my zonda at full speed without the shaft connected.
Does reverse sound louder than forward?
No, reverse sounds a little bit less powerfull. Bought a different controller to test it out this weekend.

Perhaps the motor is faulty. Have another comparable one to test with that setup?
Tested on both sss 4082 and turnigy 3674. Either is controller or esc.
Is there a programmable power output setting on the ESC perhaps? Should come at default full power but have had escs come in non default settings
Have another ESC to test?
Is it possible because I use an adapter from 3.5 to 4mm on the 3 wires for a esc to motor so motor does not get enough power?
Update: finally get the boat back to action after I change the esc to flycolor. Anyone know who sell 4mm flex cable with 4.76 bore so I can use 4.76 prop?

OSE sells .15 cable with 3/16 prop shaft, .15 slightly less than 4mm but close. 3/16 is 4.76 mm
