    i have a gsx 380 ml hydro kit to build and am starting to plan motor. i was thinking a 4092 leopard .i have a couple of 5000 grahene 4s batteries 75c. my other boat i have runs a 4s and am wondering if 4s would be ok on this. i would also have the option of 8s. what prop would u use on 8s ?? and is proper kv the same on 4 and 8s ? this is just a sport boats for me no races anywhere close to were i am. can not find any other boat guys in my area. tks AL

    There is a big voltage difference between 4 and 8s. To be able to use both 4 and 8s on the same motor you will have to be underpowered on the 4s. Somewhere around 1200kv could work for both. Will be slow on 4s and really fast on 8s. Can use a big prop for 4s to make it faster and a smaller one on 8s to keep temps and stress down. I don't see the point in running 4 and 8, won't optimize your performance. I would do one or the other..can run the batteries in parallel on 4s to get longer runs and use a 2200(+/-)kv motor.
