Default Slow build - 8S Twin Cat

I bought this hull 3 years ago from a friend in Florida
With Coivd it took me almost 3 years to get it home.

It is a Carbon Kevlar hull, after I cut out the plywood rails,
the hull felt a little flimsy, so I put a Carbon Fiber liner in it.

The drives were bought here on the forum, I did modify them
so the drive tube would come all the way through,
so I could use the Speedmaster stinger bushings (Product IDros-spdsd-250)

I bought a 40 -60 rudder from Sly Cat Racing It has water inlets on both sides of the blade,
NO shortage of flow on this one. I combined this with a Speedmaster Duel push pull pivot block,
    and a 6" long Mount.

Looks great. Sometimes, 'slow & careful' is better than "gotta get this done asap".

Can anyone guess what this will be used for?
I turned it up on my lath out of a piece of 1 1/2" Dia. aluminum
I wanted the small Dia. at 0.281 (9/32"), I whent a little under size, so I turned it down to 0.250 (1/4") and used some CA to put a piece of 9/32" tubbing on it.

That will be used to align the motor shaft and flex cable.

From the cardboard cut outs for the motor mounts, I made the motor mounts out of two pieces of 2mm carbon fiber
    epoxied together for each one.
I then machined the center clearance hole the same size as the first step on the alignment tool.
Seeing that I wanted to use Three X 4mm mounting holes. I positioned the top hole 15mm from the center hole.
Then two more holes 120 degrees apart each.

Clever minds think alike. I turned a similar alignment tool out of Delrin on my lathe to help me align the motors mounts before epoxying them into place.

Before epoxying in the motor mounts, I made sure that the two drive tube were the exact same length.
I also epoxied in the drive tube alinement holder.

Seeing that I could only put epoxy on the front side on the first go, then let set up for 24 hours.
Second mount same thing front side - 24 hours

Then I could stand the boat on the tips and do the back side of both mounts, and the drive tube alinement holders - 24 hours

I use West Systems 105 Epoxy, and 206 Slow Hardener, with Fumed Silica

Here is what my power system looks like.
    Tp- 5670 - 1180KV - 6D

I also drilled and taped new holes for the water inputs on the motor coolers,
so the exit would still be at the top of the cooler.
You will also notice that the coolers are now Left and Right.
The original holes were plugged with stainless 6mm screws and Loctite.

    I forgot to mention,
When I did the Carbon Fiber Inlay,
I also added 2mm Carbon Fiber plate to the inside of the transom.

The second bedroom is my Computer and workshop here in the Condo.
There is also a workshop downstairs on the main floor, with an exhaust fan that I use for grinding, sanding, and painting.

My lath, Mill, band saw. drill press, pedestal grinder, ETC are set up at my son's house.

    NICE!

I'm building a baby twin compared to that monster. 28" Pathfinder. Barely started but it's cleaned out ready for Carbon Kevlar... Unless you have some leftover CF cloth you might sell me again?

Looking for a piece about 15" x 22" or longer.

    Cheers!

I installed the motors using the Three 4mm screws in the front of the motors,
so I could align the base for the tail ring mounts, and epoxy them into place.
After they dried. I removed the motors to put more epoxy on the front side.

Right now this is my proposed layout.
I am in waiting for an order from OSE for my Carbon ESC mounts and battery trays.

    Hello Alain
I am not sure what OFNI is,
    But yes 2 X 56106 TP motors, 1,066m Cat, 8S- 6000 mAh per motor.
This is for racing in IMPBA S+T or Open Cat, or Open Hydro classes.
