    Default Struts &rudders for 4s & 6s monos ?

Hi all talking to a fellow club member about struts and rudders for 4s & 6s monos on my hulls i use Speed master round bottom mono strut and the speedmaster .21 rudder and extended mono bracket that gives me a distance of 2 3/4 inch from transom to rudders leading edge he mentioned of another boater using a flat bottom Speedmaster .21 hydro strut and an extended rudder bracket with a distance of 4 inches from transom to leading edge of the rudder with the leading edge of the rudder being rounded on the bottom on a 32 inch 4s Finch Wildthing mono . What would be the advantage of using a .21 flat bottom hydro strut and a 4 inch rudder setback ? Regards Andris Golts .

I use flat bottom for my P and PL hydros, round bottom for my P and PL mono. leading edge of the rudder needs to be at the drive dog.
