Default Hydro motor placement - need some insight

Got a bare hull and now facing the task of installing all the goodies.
With CG being equal, is there any reason to install the motor as much forward as possible, or is it ok to move it further back? Hot mock-up pictures below.

If I move the motor further to the back, I can place my existing lipos upfront. If I follow instructions and have the motor further forward I would have to place batteries in the sides, which will make wiring and securing them a bit tedious.

Not planning on racing, just for fun.

Layout A) Easy lipo placement, motor further towards the back. Lipo is the back one in front of motor (largest I have 6S, would balance CG with both 6S and 4S). Would have to find a decent place for ESC.

Layout B) Lipo would have to go into the sides (only 1 shown), would be dual 2S or 3S.
    ESC in front.

    Thanks for any replies.

You want to target the CG to be approximately 1" behind the sponson end. If you can do that either way consider the driveline angle and cowl fitment with the motor/ESC/battery in the hull. I tend to prefer keep the motor forward and mount a pair of batteries either side of the motor and ESC directly in front of the motor. Also consider how you will mount the batteries. If running a single battery it's likely best to keep the battery in front, then the motor directly behind it. You can offset he ESC to either side. If running 2 packs, then split them to either side.
Mine is mounted with the batteries in each sponson.

    Thanks, that helps!
I'll ponder this a little more but leaning towards having the batteries in front of motor.

    Love those googly eyes!

Are you only using 1 Lipo on the right side?
