    Default 40.160 (new) or 40.161

Looking for one for my twin mono, already have one 40.160 new version but need a matching esc, would consider a 40.160 (old) but know the prices are a lot higher...

What you got hidden away ?

Steve, if I hadn't sold that Exocet I would be biting your hand off right now. but shortly after that my fortunes changed - im now back at work and sold a private plate for a substantial sum all within a few days, ive tried to buy a twin cat but everything that's been offered is poorer workmanship for more money... I've been after a twin mono for a while and came across this beauty..

What's your 40.160 esc good for maybe I can buy that and you can buy the other set.

I don't really want to part with it, its been a great ESC and in this hull the 40.160 Old are a bit wasted, originally I was building a 120mph+ 1.5m cat this I will aim for 70-80 on 12-14s.

Why are the old version ESC's waisted? Can they pull more than the specified 160 amps and the newer versions can not?

Yeah, the old one could handle lot more amps, this is why they are probably the best "SAW" esc's every made hence they carry a heft premium.

I think they have been known to pull 600 amps+ don't quote me on that,

Liam I have a new unused 40.161WK with heavy gauge wires and extra caps. I would ask $650 plus shipping and I will offer to build up your other controller with similar caps and good wire and can flash identical firmware to try and make them identical. I will do the mods free of charge if you cover shipping.

Definitely interested... just my esc was coated in epoxy, will this be a issue?

Assuming it is just conformal coating I can remove that to add the caps and replace the wires. If it is some type of epoxy then I would not risk it.

It looks just like conformal coating.
